No Monkey Business In India

hey everyone. well it sounds like everyone is doing great back home. i had quite the week. so ill start by telling my bike story. me and my comp were riding to our apartment thurs night and going fast. all of the sudden a loud pop came from my bike and sparks were flying. the back fender slipped under my tire and its metel so i started sliding. i was going sideways and somehow rode it out. haha. my handlebars twisted so the front wheel was going the wrong way. probably doesnt make sense but nothing happened to me i hit a speed bump to stop me and then jumped over the bars and walked away without a scratch. haha. so the bikes been in the shop a few days. haha. then on monday i just finished personal study and went and sat on the couch for compainionship study. i was reading preach my gospel and heard the door open. just thinking it was the wind i didnt look up. then i looked up a few seconds later. . . a big ol monkey is looking right at me standing inside the house. i was like " uuhhh elder there is a monkey in the house" haha. i tried to scare it by standing and acting like i was going to chase it but when it just growled showed its teeth and took a few quick steps foreward i decided that wasnt gonna fix the problem. haha. elder william grabbed a couch cushion and started walking towards a different room in the house. as soon as he passed by me he took off leaving me there for dry. haha. so the monkey was only like 5 feet away and i was up on the couch and kinda jumped over it and ran to the other room and slammed the door. we were laughing so hard. then we realized it was making a mess so i opened the door and it was eating some tomatoes i baught up on the table. there were also 2 more in the house. haha. so i yelled and 2 took off but that first one just stayed threw our trash all over and jacked a whole kg of bananas i baught that same morning. that made me mad so i ran at the monkey and it took of and a slammed the front door behind it. haha. india is a crazy place. the only time i saw a monkey that close was at the zoo. haha.so the joseph family didnt come to church. the mom ended up having to work and she kinda holds the family together so nobody came. she feldt really bad and said for sure this week. so i sure hope so. but i gotta go didnt have much time because our cricket match took longer than we thought! but im doing great! love you all elder barr

Another great week in KGF

hey everyone. well sorry if this is one long sentance cuz the keyboard sucks and the period works 1 out of 10 haha but it was a good week in KGF. we found a good family of 6. joseph family. they have 3 girls and one boy all in there teens and young 20s. we met with them a couple times and have great lessons. i love talking about the restoration with them. when they found out there were proghets again on the earth there jaws dropped. haha. they missed church cuz their pastor found out they were coming to our church and scolded them so they didnt come. they read 3 nephi 11 and know that its true and they said they will come for sure this week. i hope so because people in kgf struggle to come to church we have only had 2 investigators at church the last 2 weeks. were finding a lot so hopefully we can get some more to sacrament.today is a huge hindu holiday called pungol or somthing like that. so last night everyone was washing their porches and fronts of houses with cow poo! it reaked so bad. during our lesson with the josephs last night my comp was gagging haha. he is OCD and hates germs even worse than me. ha. he even gags worse than my dad and uncle ron. hahaha. so ya that was kind of interesting.oh and we got the rat. haha. it was so funny. i picked up the fridge and i had e william with the broom waiting. so it ran out and ihe nailed it. haha. he only hit it once and i said hit it again. but he wouldnt listen. then i was taking his picture and it ran again on his foot. haha. but he gave it a couple more whacks. it was pretty funny. then he tried to throw it on me and i slipped and fell and threw my camera. we laughed the whole night. but lets just say i sleep better now. now we have to work on the frog and lizard problem haha. GRANDPARENTS

Yep can you believe it, Machelle and I are so excited, Stashia is due on July 10. They told us on Christmas Eve, they gave us a present that had some onezies inside that said my grandpa is cooler then your grandpa and one that said my finger maybe small but it has my grandpa wrapped around it, another said, saw it, wanted it, told grandpa, got it we are so excited for them.

Kaden Transfered To The Kolar Gold Fields KGF

hey, i dont have much time cuz im in bangalore for zone conf and we dont get a p day to mail. but im doing great! KGF is good and i love it there. im learning a lot and i love the people. they have so little and and are willing to give whatever they have to feed us or do anything. we had some good success last week. we ride our bikes a lot. i might need to start a elder barr bike fund if i keep riding the way i do. haha. i just cant resist hitting jumps. haha. it sounds like its really cold back home from all the letters. quit complaining cuz i miss it! haha. while you guys are all freezing im working on my farmers tan and sweating. haha. but i gotta go. hope everyone is doing good.love, elder barr
Hey mom. sounds like your having fun in the cold and tearing down x mas. it so weird cuz i feel like i have had the longest summer of my life. haha. im doing good tho. i got your package with the soap and the letters. thanks tell iveryone i loved it. and the soap works great. to bad our washer makes your close smell worse than when they went in. were getting a plumber to come soon to try and fix a bunch of stuff. i wrote lexi about a experience i had the other night. call her and ask her cuz i dont have time to write it again. haha.sorry. but kgf is good. were teaching quite a bit and its a lot of finding. its hard cuz all the doors have been knocked. but were still doing good. ill try to have better details in the future. a lot of our lessons the people speack in tamil or telugu so it kinda sucks cuz i have no idea. but my comp speacks like 6 languages so he translates sometimes. i know a few words but pres doesnt want us to learn really. my comps name is elder william. from hydrabad. he knows job and his mom. cool huh. im learning a ton and am growing to love the scriptures more and more. im greatful to have grown up how i have cuz so many dont know what there missing and dont want to listen. i know someday they will. sorry i dont have more details. but i love you and tell the fam i love them. your the best. oh and if you send anymore things make sure there is jerky. haha. there is no meat in kgf and the chicken sucks too. haha but i love kgf. pres told me in my interview ill be there for quite a while so i better get used to it. haha.love you mom!!!kaden

k so 2 or 3 nights ago at 520 am i woke up and could feel something crawling on my leg. i thought it was probably a cockroach or something. so i grabed it on top of my sheets so i didnt touch it but when i grabbed it it wasnt a coackroach. . . . . RAT! when i realized that i threw it and it ran away. we see it everyday and are trying to kill it. crazy huh. oh and i saw one of those giant spiders i took pictures it was seriously sooo big. eew. haha. KGF is so different.
